Sending you Good Vibes and Energy of Happiness and Fulfillment!
Allow yourself to be happy.
Protect your happiness and your happiness space.
Create boundaries where you need to.
Decide what holds your attention.
Spend time the way you choose.
Give consent to yourself to be and Feel Happy.
As you continue to ease and glide into 2023, allow yourself to feel good and be happy. Not just about the optimism of 2023 and what it is you hope and intend to accomplish, but being happy in general, daily.
Life will life and things happen — whether it’s someone pushing the buttons to annoy you, you miss your bus or train, you get a late start to your day, you get a funky text or you see something on social media that triggers you. Humans are going to human and other times there are things that are completely out of our control. However, you can still be and have the happiness that you desire and deserve.
How you ask?!
Well first, Happiness is an inside Job. Being Happy It starts with you and comes from within.
There is Nothing or no one that can actually make us Happy. However, things, people, places, etc. can either add to or take away from our happiness. But we either have happiness in a moment or we don’t. We make the choice of whether or not we’re happy, no one else. So Allow yourself to be Happy.
Second, It’s as simple as creating boundaries and parameters that protect your overall Happiness, well-being and your Happiness Space. Maybe that’s easier said(or read) than Done. And if so, that’s okay
On the pavement of roads, there were special lines and hash marks painted to create a lane or boundary so that when we’re driving, we don’t go out of our lane/the boundary and can keep ourselves and others safe. If and when you veer off out of your lane, the lines on most roads have indicators that you’ll feel to let you know you’re out of your lane(boundary).
As we go into week two of 2023, Here are a few things to be mindful of, think about and practice in an effort to keep and carry the happiness daily and from moment to moment:
Merriam-Webster defines Happiness as a state of well-being and contentment: JOY and a pleasurable or satisfying experience.
How do you actually define Happiness?
What are the boundaries and parameters you can create around your happiness, well-being and happy space?
What is or can be the indicator to let you know you know you’re veering out of your happy space?
How can you respectfully communicate to protect this or step away from others/the environment when you find yourself veering off?
How does what you eat, watch and listen to impact your happiness and your happy space? Does it actually make you happy or give you an opposite, anxious or depressive feeling?
How and where in your day can you allocate time to the things, spaces, and people that add to your happiness?
SMILE — Thich That Hahn says that “A tiny bud of a smile on your lips, nourishes awareness and calms you miraculously... your smile will bring a sense of happiness to you and those around you.”
Your smile can not only change your mood, your vibe.
Science says that a smile has the power to open and relax us — The muscles used to make a smile actually send a biochemical message to our nervous system that it is safe to relax the flight or fight or freeze response.
Happiness is freedom from or non-suffering. How will and are you training your mind this week to be and keep happiness each day? Give consent to and Allow yourself to be Happy! You may have a feeling of anger, sadness, disappointment or more, based on an event or circumstance and that’s okay. However, you don’t have to remain in that space or feeling. You can:
Acknowledge the feeling,
Think about how/why you got there,
Release it and move forward.
Know that Everything happens as its supposed to whether or not we can see that it’s favorable for us.
Cultivating Happiness Practice:
Take a few moments in a comfortable position, close your eyes and visualize yourself. Now, offer the following phrases to yourself:
May You have mental happiness, physical happiness and ease of well-being
May your happiness not diminish
May your happiness in your work and creativity, continue and not diminish
Now visualize others in the following order and offer the phrases to them:
- a benefactor in your life,
- a dear person,
- someone you don’t know that well but that you see or encounter often,
- someone you have a challenging time with(don’t like)
- and lastly, visualize all beings.
Have an Amazing day and week.
Be well, Stay Mindful!
