Earlier I had a great conversation with, Laiya St. Clair about self-care and taking time for self before anyone or anything else in my weekly Vibe Check, my weekly Mid-week Reset.
Grace, gratitude, non-judgment and lovingkindness came up as we spoke about the challenges that exist in the ever-changing landscape of 2025. I think grace looks and shows up differently for everyone. I recently wrote about Self-Love: A Radical Act of Healing, Resilience and Wellbeing for Mental Health America, I talked about ways we self-love shows up as a modality for our well-being and in that, universally I believe that we can do better at self-love and giving ourselves grace by:
Accepting and allowing things to be as they are
Letting go of whatever happened or that we may be holding on it
And not judging ourselves(no shame, guilt, etc.) for whatever the circumstances are
This is certainly easier said than done, but as I’ve said before this is a thing that takes PRACTICE. Then we moved into a short practice of cultivating presence and loving on ourselves via lovingkindness. Listen to my conversation with Laiya below:
