Reflection
As I close out a year of my life and begin a new one, something that comes up is reflection.
Reflection is powerful in my opinion. It allows and affords so much like gratitude, joy, happiness, and sometimes sadness and it even allows for to touch the intimacy of past moments and experience your feelings.
Reflection also allows the opportunity not only for solitude but also mindfulness — Bringing to mind moments that have occurred and not dwelling on a particular detail but reflecting on what it was like to experience the fullness of that moment.
Earlier this year while matriculating in a course, I wrote a letter to myself that I wanted to practice reflecting more. Ideally, where I spend time and moments reflecting on the experiences from the day, the week, the month or the past in general, that brought me to the present. While I haven’t fully fulfilled that intention and goal of reflection, I don’t feel any guilt. Maybe some shame, but being honest with what is arising in the moment and realizing I want more reflection for the moments to come is where my mindfulness practice is currently in this moment.
Reflection is a powerful practice that can further every one of our mindful journeys.
Invest in some time to reflect and see where and how your awareness grows.
Not ruminating, not dwelling, not stressing just reflecting.
It’s a practice and intention I want to carry into this new year of life I embark on and one that I hope can help in your journey too.
Have an Amazing day, have an Amazing week and Be well, stay mindful.
