Sometimes the most beautiful creations are born out of stillness and contemplation and even born out of times of rest. Taking the time to slow down, breathe, and connect with our inner selves can unlock a world of creativity that we never knew existed.

April is National Stress Awareness Month and as I’ve mentioned here before, I believe we do a lot of things we’re not cognizant of that induce our stress or anxiety. But namely, we don’t take enough breaks.

In our fast-paced world, taking a break or rest is often been seen as a luxury because many people feel the pressures to get work done, to constantly be busy and to constantly deliver or be productive. Moreover, in a culture that often values productivity and efficiency above all else, prioritizing rest and self-care can seem like a radical act of resistance against the pressure to constantly produce and perform. We can resist the harmful effects of overwork, burnout, and cultivate a healthier and more sustainable approach to life and work by simply intentionally taking a break. Taking time to rest. Taking time to recharge
